Sweet Season Quilts

Add comment February 24th, 2010

Sue Pritt’s quilt patterns are beautiful shops along a tree lined street.  They make you want to go inside and see what’s on sale.  Complete with overflowing flower pots and period street lamps how can you not want to go window shopping?!

Sweet Season Quilts

The designs look complicated but they really are not.  Paper piecing makes for straight lines and sharp corners.  Fusible applique adds the extra touches.  And traditional piecing pulls it all together.  Sue’s patterns are very clear, with simple step by step instructions and they include full size templates and applique patterns.  Diagrams and tips provide additional help.

These are from the Painted Lady Series…

The Quilt Shop has quilt blocks on the window shades and on the door.  Do you see the kitty in the window…. seems quilters and kitties go together.

After shopping you can stop in for some refreshments at the Bakery & Cafe.  There’s a table for two on the balcony. And a bright cardinal sits at the top of the shop.

You will also find a Flower Shop and a Boutique in this series.

The individual patterns in this group measure 16″ x 34″ and can be made to stand alone or to be grouped together.

Another group, the Shop Ladies Series, has several more shops.  There are ten in all.

Measuring 10″ x 22″ each of these patterns can stand alone as a wall hanging.   Or you can make as many as you want and put them together for an entire street scene.

So start shopping…. I mean quilting!

Spring Quilt Patterns

Enough of this dreary winter!  It has to end soon (doesn’t it?).  Feel Spring coming closer by getting ready for it.  These patterns will help you get your home looking like Spring.

This Welcome Spring wallhanging will brighten your entryway.  The flowers bloom from half-square triangles, squares and rectangles.

Spring, Book 1 in the Table Topper Series has a different pattern for each month of Spring:  Shamrocks for March, Tulips for April and Blooms for May.

Ode To Spring is a cheerful sampler with flowers, birds, bees and bunnies.   This is a perfect learning project as many different methods are used in the construction of this quilt.  Foundation piecing,  two kinds of applique, simple embroidery…. all equal fun!

Three cute little chicks announce Spring Is Here!  Aren’t they adorable?!  Measuring 25 x 15, this quilt will go together very quickly and you can use the chicks for other projects too.

This bright Poppy will liven up any room.  Finishing at 24″ x 24″ it is paper pieced so it’s guaranteed to come out just right.  If orange doesn’t fit your color scheme make it red, or yellow or any color you want.

Tulips In Bloom is made quickly with simple piecing. If you use 5″ charm squares it’ll go together even faster.   Pictured here in soft faded colors but it’ll look great in bright cheery colors too.  Are you a beginner quilter?  This is the perfect pattern for you.  Experienced? It’ll go together faster than you can say Spring is almost here!

Chase the winter blues away…. grab your favorite fabrics and a quilt pattern and start getting ready for Spring.

Suns Out Quilt Jigsaw Puzzles

Add comment February 19th, 2010

Suns Out has a variety of Quilt Jigsaw Puzzles.  Here’s two with quilting as the main theme…

Morgan Weisling’s Quilting Bee brings you back in time to an old fashioned quilting bee with all the women, young and old, sitting around the quilt frame.  You can almost hear them chatting away as they sew.  And little brother is under the frame listening and probably pestering his sister.

Several prize-winning quilts are being admired by attendees in The Quilting Show Circuit Jigsaw Puzzle.

Several of the puzzles combine quilt images with landscapes.  Here’s two of those…

The quilt in Cactus Flower And Quilt Jigsaw Puzzle uses colors found in the desert landscape.

In Floating Quilts Over Sisters Jigsaw Puzzle quilts hang on a line in the foreground while quilty hot air ballons float in the sky in the background.  There are chairs just waiting for you to “set a spell” and maybe do some hand sewing.

And here’s one where the quilt IS the puzzle.  Well, the quilt AND a couple of playful kitties.   Wedding Rings And Kittens Jigsaw Puzzle has 1,000 pieces and looks challenging!

This was just a sampling.  There are more than three dozen Quilt Jigsaw Puzzles to choose from.

More New Purse Patterns / Facebook First Friday

Add comment February 5th, 2010

First, a reminder…. Don’t forget to go to QuiltersWarehouse on Facebook on Friday for the Facebook First Friday coupon code.  The code will be valid for all U.S. customers until Sunday night.  Don’t miss it!

Now for the new bags…

Annie’s Bag Purse Pattern is another winning design from Purse-O-Nalities of Palm Harbor.  It’s so cute!  The pattern has lots of options.  The handle can be a standard two strap or a new one strap version.  The sides can be cinched in to make the bag look a little smaller and a little bit cuter with bows.  You can add a pocket flap, a zipper pocket and customize the interior.   Choose one fabric for the entire bag or dress it up with a few of your favorites.   Make it your way!

Cruzer & Little Cruzer is a convertible bag that you can use in a variety of ways.   It makes a great gym bag, diaper bag, beach bag, overnight bag, or even a purse.   The straps are adjustable and convert from a backpack to a shoulder bag.  Lots of pockets, both inside and out, help keep everything organized and handy.  Choose your size… big or little… or both!

Girly To Go Purse Pattern is from Tiger Lily Press and is aptly named – it’s so “girly” looking!  Isn’t that all over ruffly trim pretty?   With a little tassle hanging from the front flap and handle bottoms that look like bows, you can’t get much girlier.  You get to choose from two styles.

That’s just three new patterns, but there are a gazillion more purse patterns to browse.   So, first head over to QuiltersWarehouse on Facebook for your coupon code, and then browse the patterns
